We have for the last few months been planning a trial course that will tick all the boxes for someone who wishes to camp at National trust venues, and have now come to a point that we are ready to trial the scheme at Arlington Court.
The 3 day course will cover all the basics of bushcraft as well as looking at what the National Trust will require of bushcrafters who wish to stay at their venues, and also cover the process by which you will arrange future visits.
Once attendees have completed the course they will be given a unique ID that can be presented to participating National trust venues.
Currently the scheme is only available at Arlington Court, where the trial can be monitored and tweaked. However it is hoped that very quickly the scheme will be expanded to all suitable National Trust venues across the country opening up a host of new bushcraft friendly locations.
The potential for the project is very exciting, to think it started with an innocuous chat in the middle of the woods, kind of blows me away.
Watch this space for dates of the first few courses which are planned for late April, May and June
